DockDogs®
DockDogs® is a premier organization specializing in canine aquatics competitions. Established in 2000, it was created to develop a nationally recognized sport inspired by the structure and standards of track and field events. This approach provides participants with objective feedback and measurable progress, fostering a competitive yet inclusive environment where “anyone with a dog and toy” can compete and aspire for national recognition.
Specialized Disciplines
DockDogs® offers three main disciplines:
Big Air: A long jump for dogs, where the distance is measured from the end of the dock to where the dog’s tail breaks the water’s surface.
Extreme Vertical: A high jump for dogs, where they leap to grab a bumper toy suspended above the water.
Speed Retrieve: A timed event where dogs race against the clock to retrieve a bumper toy from the far end of the pool.
Additionally, the “Iron Dog” competition challenges teams to compete in all three disciplines within a single event, promoting versatility and skill development.
