Alan Sands - Third Generation Variety Artist and Talent Agent
Alan Sands is a third-generation variety artist who launched his talent agency, Alan Sands Entertainment, in the mid-80s, initially producing company picnics and holiday parties around the San Francisco Bay Area. In 1986, Alan began performing at county and state fairs, bringing the entertainers and entertainment services he encountered at fairs and conventions into the corporate market.
As Alan’s career progressed, he expanded his resources by performing at international festivals. A significant milestone occurred when he sold a duo act to Oracle for their company picnic, later securing a six-month engagement for the same acrobats at Disney World. This relationship blossomed into his representation of The Tesseract Troupe, a collection of 20 international crème de la crème variety acts.
In addition to The Tesseract Troupe, Alan also represents the 8th generation Italian circus, Piccolo Zoppe Circus, and two of the world’s most awarded magicians from Canada, Greg Frewin and Shawn Farquhar.
Today, Alan Sands boasts a database of over 1,500 variety, specialty, and novelty acts, including animal acts, comedians, vaudevillians, and specialty performers. Alan takes pleasure in finding hard-to-find entertainers for any budget, ensuring a unique and memorable experience for every event.
